Pat Bracken RIP

May 01, 2023

Former club Chairman. A lasting legacy. Fondly remembered.

The Jes Rowing Club committee are saddened to hear of the death of Pat Bracken RIP (pictured on the left, above). We extend our sympathies to his family at this time; his wife Nuala, his children Sinead, Jacqui, Padraig, Aine, Daragh, Ciaran, Fionnuala. His son in law Frankie and his daughter in law Catriona.
We at the rowing club commend the commitment and the legacy of Pat, who gave his time selflessly to the club. Pats persuasiveness allowed the rowers of the club to benefit from a new clubhouse with gym facilities, "ergs" and dressing rooms with hot showers. As well as these tangible achievements, Pat was an incredibly patient and organised member of our club. He made sure that travelling to a regatta happened easily, with his keen sense of the logistics and his excellent mediation and problem solving skills.
But aside from all these skills and attributes, Pat will be missed for his sincere care for all the young men and women of our club. The light that Pat has brought to so many young people during his time with the Jes rowing club will remain even after he has gone.
See our archived news pages for more on Pat's long association with this Rowing Club.
