Next Events

The next event of the season will be the Neptune Regatta in Islandbridge, Dublin on Saturday Apr 01st, 2023.
All Rowers will be taking part.  Coaches will update on crews close to the event.  For more information, see the Rowing Ireland website.

Event Schedule 2022/23

Coláiste Iognaid will participate in several Regatta and Head of the River events in the upcoming season.  There will be a number of Head of the River events in the winter months, followed by the Regattas from April to July.  Rowing events are dependent on the weather so there can be cancellations and we will update the website with any changes.

45 minutes away from Brussels Airport (BRU) in Zaventem via the railway station below the airport's arrivals hall.

Buses go 10 times a day between Zaventum (BRU) and Charleroi (CRL) airports, via Ghent, to Bruges. More info and booking link
Ghent is a 60-70 min bus journey from Brussels Zaventum Airport and a 1hr 25 mins bus journey from South Charleroi Airport.

You can park at the club and walk up the riverbank to the dangan slip (~1.5 Km).

Alternatively, park at the Dangan sports ground. To get there, drive north from the University or UCHG (hospital) towards Moycullen / Oughterard. After the traffic lights at Galway business park, take the next right (the road markings create a middle lane to assist with turning right).

There will be parking on the left, a little way down this road. You will need to walk from there to the riverbank (~400m).

Attendance at Regattas requires parents to help on a rota to supervise travel and at the event itself. At least one adult male/female must accompany boys/girls on overnight stays.

Your sons and daughters above first year will travel in the mixture of the school bus and parents' cars. First years travel with parents again on a roster system. First years will not normally be involved in overnight stays.
