The Jes Eight defeated St. Joseph's College by two lengths in the Schoolboy Senior Eights for the Anderson Cup at the Corrib Regatta in June 1974 after a gap of sixteen years (1958).

The CIRC Senior Eight and Four pulled off the double Championship in Enniskillen to bring to the College, for the first time, the Senior Eights and Fours Schoolboy/Youth Championship of Ireland.

These crews were then honoured with Irish singlets and rowed for Ireland at the Homes International in Wales. CIRC beat Scotland and Wales and were just pipped by England in both events. They were the first Jes crews to represent Ireland at the Homes International Regatta.

In an email from Kieran Forde, now living in Saudi Arabia, Kieran was the first to report to us that the 1973/74 crew won the “senior schools” 8 and 4 at the National Championships.
