CIRC rising from the mists of time

Previous Crews:

2000-08 1990s 1980s 1970s

1960s 1950s 1934-49

We wish to acknowledge and thank the many people who have provided the photos and other details that have made this archive possible. We have had contact with people across Ireland and Europe, and as far away as Saudi Arabia, the United States and Australia.

In particular, we thank Frank Phelan for the countless hours spent contacting past Jes Coaches and ex-Jes rowers (and their children), convincing them that their precious photos will be returned to them and then checking and cross-checking names, dates and details of events.

Driven on by Frank, our aim is to find at least one photo for every year the Jes has taken to the water in long, narrow boats. All contributions to this end are thankfully received.

1935: The First Jes Crew to win a National Title

The 1935-1936 St. Ignatius College Rowing Club crew: Austin Caulfield (bow), Andy Keogh, Colm O'Riordan, Walter Murphy (stroke) and Kevin Faller (cox).

Help. We are missing many photos from 1934 to the present. Can anyone provide these photos? Please contact us through the school.
